Saturday Evening

I am so excited right now to tell you that there is no new news! Charlie has slept all afternoon and has been really pretty calm. Actually the most exciting thing here is that there was a water leak or something here at the hospital and they have had to shut down the cafeteria. Luckly we have had some very generous visitors today and are well fed. We have even been feeding some of our new waiting room friends. This poor hospital is packed. Here in the PICU they have 32 beds and currently 39 patients w/ more on the way. The rumbling is that if Charlie tolerates breathing on his own tomorrow and is doing ok they might move him to another floor so they can free up some space. Not sure how I feel about that just yet. - Rob

I have shared your "story" with some people in Erie, PA and you have a lot of prayers being said for your little Charlie. Your family is such a wonderful inspiration for us all. You are doing a great job of supporting each other. Just wanted you all to know that many people who don't even know you are praying for you and for the complete healing of Charlie. God Bless you all.

I'm a neighbor of John and Jenell Nordfors. Jenell told me about your ordeal. I have 3 little boys of my own, including an infant and I just can't imagine the suffering you're going through right now. More than anything I'm sure you wish it was one of you in that bed instead of your sweet, helpless child. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of your wonderful family. Our prayers are with you all.

will you have the same nurses on the other floor? this is important... i am pleased with the lack of eventfulness this night.

ang, we must mourn the loss of our boys innocence this evening.. they are in the bathtub making potty jokes and giggling non-stop. i thought the potty jokes came later, not at 3 yrs old... did you know that mary had a poopy turtle, and not just a little lamb?

Fantastic! this is great news. I hope you guys can now relax a little... your little boy is improving, your house is under control and hey, it just looks like prayers are being answered.

Marilee "Short Circuit" was one of my favorite movies... but, I am well over 30.. not as well as you, but definitely over 30 Also, what has happened to the Memphis Grizzlies, just watched the Jazz trounce 'em.

Love you.... keep the good news coming... Jill b

Coming from an RN- speak up prior to the anticipated move! You have the right to refuse a transfer until Charlie is more stable; his needs come before staffing and bed crunches! It sounds like he is making progress and you have trust in the nursing staff- it is necessary to be his advocate at this time!! Love to you all-

I third the notion to speak up. I know the "floor" sounds cool because you can room in and it is one step closer to home, but it's not the PICU!

Charlie is such a precious angel. It is so great that he had a restful afternoon. I came home tonight to check my email and I am overwhelmed by the love and prayers that are being sent to Charlie and his parents. I would like to let Rob and Angel know some of the many family and friends who are praying for you: Linda Williams, Peggy and Arlee Heslop, Kelly McPhee, Johna and Matt Spigel, Grandma Liz and Grandpa Fritz, Rick and Holly Smith, Sharon Kerkman, Colleen and Paul Millburg, Sherilen Clark, Lisa Broadhead and Judy Peterson. thank you all!! Your prayers have been a blessing.

Hey Rob and Angel,
This is Greg Jones I just thought I would brag about your little brother, rob. I was at your home on thursday and friday. And Your little brother came through as usual I beleive he is competeing with all of you on the amout of sleep he has had. He deligated and kept the show running both nights but the hardest was friday for sure. Over whelming in both ways. The response to the call but also putting them to work. I know you know him but I just thought I would say out loud what everyone is thinking. Jared is a God send. He may not talk to me for a while for doing this but it is worth it.
We are praying for you constantly and I am finding out through Jared and this blog what is going on. You are in our prayers always. You two are amazing god bless.
