a helping hand...

so, some of us are having a hard time because we feel helpless while we wait for progress and watch the md's and rn's do their work. many of you have asked me or rob & angel how you can help. most of you know that rob & ang have almost finished builing their house, but there are still some things that need to be done. Rob shared his concern with me the other day that he has a deadline to have his cabinets in in 10 days and now of course he has no time to finish the things that need to be ready before the cabinets get here. They didn't ask for help, because they wouldn't, but i think with some help, we can get everything done for them so they don't have to worry about the house.

So here're the deal. over the next 3 days - wednesday, thursday & friday Jared (rob's brother) will be at the house working. If any of you can spare some time or share their skills to help with the house we'd appreciate it so much. the things that need to be done are some finish work, some tiling, cleaning, and the installing the hardwood floor. Call jared (540-6717) or meghan (560-7953) if you can help and we'll give you details...

The biggest project is the hardwood floor. jared will be working on it friday, but if we could have a good old "nordfors work party" friday starting around 4pm, i think the whole thing could get hammered out that night. let us know if you can be there, we'll provide dinner and we can get this thing done and off rob & angels mind.

we love you all so much and continue to be grateful for all your support and prayers. keep them coming.

rob & i started our posts at the same time and somehow i jumped ahead of him - so read on below....

I know that your many prayers, fasting and faith are the reason for Charlie's improved condition. We feel of your love and are blessed by your many kindnesses and moral support. We feel blessed each time we get an encouraging update from the doctors. Know that he is getting excellent medical care from all the doctors, nurses and other personnel and feel it is blessing that he can be cared for in such a great hospital.
Charlie is the most precious, well natured baby. If he is cross, you just wrap him up in his blanket, lay him down and he goes right to sleep. If he is hungry, he just needs two servings of squash. Really, his only fault is that he drools a lot.
Please keep him in your prayers - - he still has a lot of healing to do.
Thank you all!!!

Meghan, Jared, please count me in on Friday and Saturday. I get off work at 2:00 on friday, and can be there at 2:30. Saturday you have me all day if you can use me? I will try and recruit others also! If there was one man on this earth who deserved others to give back manual labor, it is Rob.

Hi! This is Diane(Grandpa Dave's assistant) I wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about Charlie Cooper. I check in with the blog every few hours and I am praying so much for him. My heart is so sad and I pray that his condition keeps improving! He is in the very best place with the most fabulous doctors and nurses. When Dominick was 15 mos. old he was hospitalized there for a really bad virus and severe dehydration and he received the best care I have ever seen in my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

Meggie-

Although I do not know my way around a tile saw, or skill saw, or nail gun, or finishing gun(I really could go on and on), I am quite familiar with bottles and binkies, and I am willing to do my research on Power Rangers. I will be to your house early on Friday to hang out with Wonda Bread, Green Power Ranger, and the sweetest 5 month old non-identical twins ever! Or if Susan would rather utilize my culinary skills, I can help her. Let me know....

Charlie looked so precious when I saw him today...I know there are special spirits assigned to him to help him and keep him comfortable. I love that little dude!

I will be there for sure.... I am an amazing sight with a power nail gun. You haven't really lived without witnessing that sight. Just kidding! But I will be there as a very determined helper and beverage fetcher.

Gammy is so happy we are having a 'work party'. I know that she is looking out for our little man (can you have dirrahea in heaven?) and she is proud of her wonderful family.

Well shoot, I am so dissappointed David and I can't be there to help with the work. David insists he could fire a nail gun from his wheelchair. (be afraid, very afraid!) Rob and Angel, I know you are grateful for all the support. We know from our experience that nothing can replace family and friends. We had great friends, but you have both close by. We are all praying, Todd and Cami also are thinking of you and send their love.
