some answers :)

Sorry for the delayed post. My tummy was rumbling (as Britton says) so we ate lunch first. The Infectious Disease team came this morning and told us the organism is identified as coagulase negative staph. This is a common organism on human skin so there are several possibilities of how this got into the sample. It could have been on Charlies scalp and somehow got onto the sample, or it could have been contaminated by someone else, or it could really be in his brain. The latter is the least likely, but the most serious. So that is why they started antibiotics, if its true he is already on treatment. He is getting daily samples taken, so wednesday's sample has had 48 hours to grow. It's negative which leads them to believe it was a contamination. We feel like we did get the answers we were looking for.

They are going to increase his baclofen to see if that will help with his aggitation as well as increase the colonodine. They took him off the beta-bloker because his blood pressure is under control. He is currently being fitted for his moonboot casts. We'll update with a photo when we get one...

editors note (meghan) - rob and angel lost their internet, so they'll post again as soon as it is back up and running...

How cool is that? I didn't even have to call Robin's nephew...
Way to go Utes!

You look well... I was at LDS today visiting my friend who has been there over a week now and looking forward to a Tuesday release. She has 2 grandkids and talking to them tonite reminded me of the joy grand parents get from their kids. So my words tonite are to Cheryl and Kathy and the other grandparents of JackJack. God works in mysterious ways and not always in the ways we want.. I guess we just need to hang on to that fragile rope we are given and keep steadfast in not only our faith, but our love and determination. We've had great examples in our lives and it is time to take a page out their books. Knowing Cheryl like I do, I know that Marion is there working side by side with her, because I see a lot of Marion in Cheryl and her love for her kids and grandkids. I don't know Kathy that well, but from what I've seen she is remarkable and is exactly the kind of grandma that baby needs.
Rob, Angel and Brit and Charlie you have the best that God can provide and it is through them the He is working...

Bless you All.. Good Night.. Jill b

In answer to your question about any other kids here with meningitis, we asked the Infectious Disease Doc's and they said not right now. But who know's for sure because they have to zippa your lippa for hippa. We have heard that they had a teenager here a month or so ago that had it and he is home now.
