Gold Medal Baby

Last night Charlie and I held our own Olympic Games. Charlie was the first place winner in "I Can Sweat Through My Blanket" contest as well as the "Smelliest Diaper" event. I did win the blood pressure contest; his got pretty low during the night. However, we both scored well on the "Let's Sleep All Night" competition with Charlie pulling ahead at the end - he is just waking up.

I love this little boy. He looks at me with his beautiful eyes and I talk to him and tell him how much I love him. I tell him that he has a big spirit and is strong and brave. I also tell him that Heavenly Father loves him and that He is with him all the time. Even though the doctors say he cannot hear, on some level, I know he hears me and that he knows everyone loves, worries and cares about him. Knowing that you all love and care for him too is a comfort and a blessing to the entire family.
Thank You!
G-ma Cheryl

I guess if I don't want to start the day off crying, I shouldn't check Coop's blog. I'm glad he is such a fierce competitor - go gold Charlie!

Grandma C-
Charlie can hear you...of that I'm sure! He knows in his heart that the whole family loves him and is rooting for him. Look at his progress over the past few weeks. He wants out of PCMC as much as the rest of you do! (not that it's a bad place to be, he just wants to go to that awesome house and hang out)

Thank you all so much for the updates. We love reading all posts, especially when Rob and Shani post. They both are skillfull wordsmiths that incite such hysteria into their blogs that it makes it fun to read. Go Red Bull!

Love and prayers to you and yours,

Sheesh...I am going to have to start checking on Charlie BEFORE I put on my makeup! And then I would have to stay away for the rest of the day. Maybe I will just look into waterproof mascara!!

Cheryl, you made me laugh and cry practically within the same breath! Thanks to all of you for being so open and keeping us updated! I know Charlie understands what you are communicating. When one sense is decreased, the others are enhanced to compensate. I think Charlie's sense of HEART is processing all the love that is being sent his way. Keep it up, little man!

I think it is wonderful that you are all talking to him, cuddling him and letting him know how much he is loved. I agree with all the other posts, that at some level he knows you are talking to him and he is getting better because of it. Give that sweet little boy a big squeeze from all of us in PA.

Thank you for allowing us perfect strangers to follow his progress. You are a wonderful example of what family should be.

May God bless you all in many ways.

Your friends in Erie, PA

Wow, Cheryl... I had gotten to the point where I could read these and not cry.. I guess I was wrong. You are a magnificent grandma. He is so blessed to have someone like you talking to him and I know his spirit is listening. Don't for one minute think your words go unheard. Charlie is in there and so is his spirit. Love you... you are special people... glad we share a similar blood line..
