Let's Celebrate! :)

Today the NeuroTrauma Unit of Primary Children’s threw Charlie a going away party in the rehab gym. Jenny and Amy made a special cake with everything Britton had requested (green frosting, funfetti cake, and sprinkles) It was delicious! It was so fun to see everyone that has made such a difference in Coop’s progress. They do these parties on Tuesdays for the long-timers so this is a sign that we will probably not be here next Tuesday. I told the staff that they were secretly celebrating that they didn't have to put up with us anymore.
Britt took this picture of us. We had to move to get in the frame.Amy and Jenny dishing up cake and "Super-Cooper ice cream"Dr. Such-Neibar, Mandi and SteveSusie Charlie's nurse today. She didn't get to stay long at the party because she had to check on Charlie.Britt giving Dave "knucks"They saved this piece for Rob. Do you think it will last until Friday when he gets back?More fun at the party.

Congrats! Way to go Charlie and his sweet parents. Hope it will continue to get better, because with half the worlds prayers with you, it has too! Good luck mom and dad, you have quite the road ahead of you, and good luck little guy, we will continue to pray for you.
Love, an anonymous fan of Charlie!

so you can't really tell from the picture but the cake they made said "Keep up the fight" with a U and Y. It was a perfect cake for the little fighter.
i just wanted to add my appreciation for the awesome staff at PCMC - not just for doing their jobs, but for caring about charlie and knowing he is more than a patient to us.

I was so excited to hold the little man today. However, it rapidly became clear that I am a TOTAL novice when it comes to the bum pat technique. I am going to get some pointers from Big Jare as I hear he is the master.

Cooper is surely a little man with a huge determined spirit. I know that he will continue to bless our lives

XOXO

What fun! A going away party must make it feel like you are really going home soon. I am sure it is both scary and exciting. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a great party. That staff is going to miss you guys, Charlie has a way of making everyone around him happier and better and they'll miss seeing him everyday. He must get that from you Ang since you have the same effect on people.

Charlie,
It sounds like a Happy to you day even though it's not quite your birthday. Which I might add, that you are going to get to spend at YOUR house with all of your family. Yay for being able to go home soon and for holding up your head in PT. Steps in the forward direction are always a crowd pleaser :)

Rob & Angel, Thank you for sharing this moment in your lives with so many people. I can not believe how many visitors you've had at this blog. AND how many share stories of their own lives. It truly is amazing how one little person like Charlie make so many changes in our lives. I know it'll be rough for those of us blogstalkers who will need to get our daily "fix" of Charlie news once you go home.
I wish you the best of luck! Please keep us posted.

All the best -
