Big blue eyes

Besides being mildly agitated, Charlie has been excellent. As I was sitting here being one with my thoughts, I grabbed Angel's camara and started looking at the pictures as I have done a million times. This time however, I almost cried when I got to these sweet pictures. His big blue eyes and huge cheesy grin is so refreshing to see after getting used to his grimaces and pouty faces. I wanted to put these pictures on here to remind everyone of the happy little boy we are praying for, and that despite the sickness that has powered his body for a few months, this is the sweet little Charlie that is still there somewhere. And that gives me hope. -Shani

Oh my, sweet Charlie. These pictures once again stir up emotions for this little boy who has been through enough to last him a life time. Continued thoughts and prayers from strangers. The circle of love for this boy stretches further than you can know. Hugs and kisses.

Charlie IS in there.
You know, I sometimes have a hard time looking at the pictures of him in the hospital, because it reminds me so much of what Livie looked like....the grimaces and stiff posture. I remember how hard and frustrating it was. Thinking, where is my baby, I know she is in there somewhere.

While we were at the hospital we met a boy named Jayden. He had brain trauma. When we met Jayden he was almost like a vegetable, he couldn't talk, or walk, or sit up or communicate in any way. He had lost his potty training skills, he couldn't eat. It was so sad. Jayden was an only child and I remember watching his parents and seeing how heartbroken they were, but they wouldn't give up. His mom kept telling me, "I know Jayden is in there."
Towards the end of our hospital stay, Jayden "woke up." It happened almost overnight. He started talking, eating, he was potty trained. With the help of PT he started walking. He was totally Jayden, and he was back!

I don't know when Charlie is going to "wake up." But I know he is in there. You guys have been through
SO much. To watch these sweet little children go through such hard trials, it's just not fair, but I know the Lord loves Charlie. He is aware of Charlie. I know that miracles do happen. Your day will come Charlie, you keep fighting.
Thanks for showing us those sweet pics of Charlie. He has a smile that can melt your heart!

The next time Charlie smiles like that (hopefully very soon) he will have a toothy grin to show us. Thanks for the pictures Shani, and the commentary in the post above.

wow! What a beautiful little boy! I have to admit he is one strong boy, he is going through a heck of a fight and I know must of us adults would throw in the towel and he is progressing so much. Go back to the first few posts and compare it's amazing!!!
