Good Night :)

Charlie had a good night. He settled down after his 4 hour feeding around 12:30 or 1:00 then we both went to bed. He only woke up one time from 1:00 am until now. Hurray! So that further confirms the theory that the food is what is making him uncomfortable because he didn't have a feeding from 12:00 until now. He does need to get used to the sensation of having something in his stomach so we will continue to work through this. The dotor said things are going really well and she believes he is stable enough to proceed with the G-tube placement where they will insert a short tube a few inches from his belly button through the skin and into the stomach. After the surgery he will be fed through a little "button" on his belly that we will open and insert the food when needed. The surgeon will come by later to discuss specifics and when he can be scheduled.

Happy Birthday, Angel! Best of luck to you and to your sweet little Charlie!
Looks like he's improving nicely, more coughs, gags, sneezes, so why do you have to do the G-tube now? What would happen if you continue to feed him through his NJ tube for now and wait and see if he'll be able to eat by mouth in a little while?

Happy Birthday Angel!! Hope today is a great day for you and Charlie! He looks so handsome with that haircut and I love to see his eyes open so much. The boys had so much fun at your house last week and Dominick hasn't stopped talking about his "friend" Britton! Dom has been real sick with a fever and nasty cough for several days so I haven't come by to see Charlie in case I am carrying any germs. I want to come by and see him soon!
Love and prayers,
Diane

Ang & Rob, I watched a trach and PEG placed in the ICU during a clinical recently and it was amazing how quick and slick the PEG placement was. No worries there.

So, it's Tuesday, did they turn on the hearing aids to see if Coop had any reaction?

Hope your happy to you day has been nice. Cheers!

hey guys! It's Audra from the
13th ward. Charlie is looking so great! We will not stop praying for your little sweetie(and his amazing family.) I wanted to tell you Taylor has had his G-tube for almost 2 years now and it's the greatest. He also had a Nissin done at the same time so vomiting is very infrequent even with a tummy bug. And if he gets fussy we pull out the crazy big syringe. My favorite part is you can change the button at home(so long as it is a g-tube not J or GJ)
No more fluoroscopy! Anyway best of luck with everything! We'll keep checking your blog and prying for continued improvement and good news from the docs!

Hey! Obviously I meant praying, but prying might not be too far from the truth. -Audra
