1st Haircut! Thanks Alisha :)

Charlie's hair was getting kind of long and mullet-like so our friend Alisha agreed to come to the hospital to fix the problem. We put him in a physical therapy chair and she worked her magic on the majority of the head then I held him so she could get the mullet in the back. Of course he didn't like having his haircut because it involved moving his head but he looks so handsome, it was worth it. Rob gave orders for "high and tight army haircut" but I thought Charlie's shunt and scars needed a little concealment so we left some length on top. His hair still has a strawberry tint.
Charlie's swallow study has been postponed once again until tomorrow but this time it wasn't because of him. I guess all swallow studies have been rescheduled, I think the therapist is out today. So we will all have to wait some more. He has been pretty upset since 9:30 this morning. He just grunts and kicks his legs a little. I don't think he likes the sensation of his tummy being full again. The doctor has slowed down his feedings to run over 2 hours to see if that helps. The nurse also is sucking out air from his tummy periodically during the day so he doesn't feel bloated.

What a sweet baby! Nice call on the hair Angel... Rob likes to think he knows what looks good. Just don't let him get a hold of the gel and comb... we might have a mohawk on our hands. Love you guys!!!

Hooray for hair cuts! He looks great and so grown up in those pics. Happy (early) Birthday Angel! I'm eating celebratory sugar cookies for you today (they can't all possibly be for me!) Good luck with the swallow study tomorrow. Maybe if Coop passes he can have a taste of your happy-to-you cake?

My internet is up and running! You'd think it had been out for a week with the way I've been acting about it. It's only been a day and a half. I'm glad to see that Charlie got a hair cut. Sorry to hear about the recent storms last night. Good luck at the swallow study...maybe I shouldn't mention it for chances that it might be postponed again. I guess the longer you wait, the better the results will be. At least we're hoping. I hope all goes well tonight! And may I please be the first to wish Angel a Happy Birthday, tomorrow!!!!

love the haircut.. i was starting to feel like he could help me with my taxes with such an accountant hairdo. and what a memorable first haircut - i hope you kept a little lock of it. let char know that i get pretty grumpy when i overeat and am bloated too, so to keep up the fuss until the feeds are right and he is comfortable.

Happy Birthday, Angel (tomorrow). Bryan and Teri and Nate (Joey's youngest) have birthdays in the next few days, too.
The baby looks awesome. I have been working with Mom on her funds and if Char (perfect name, too) keeps the red hair... you could be in good shape! (FOR A WHILE ANYWAY!).

I feel so good about the little man and can see both in your postings and pictures that the "Charlie steps" are moving at his speed in the right direction..

Go Jazz an good luck BYU.. Love, Jill B

Love,
