Not such a great morning

Well it sounds like coop had a good day after such a hard long weekend Angel said he was great and slept most of the day. He was awake when I got here but not for long. after his eight o’clock meds and a long day on the news and being famous, he was out. He slept great till about five this morning and hasn’t been so happy since then he has had some of his meds and a diaper change he is still ticked - he must want his mama to come back. but amber is giving him is clonadine now so let’s keep his fingers crossed that it does the trick.

So I just have to say Rob and angel didn’t really know what to think about this whole news thing but I think the same as all of you that they made the right decision. Amanda, I don’t know how you did it but you actually made rob look good. It was pretty neat to sit up here holding Charlie with all the nurses in his room watching his story. So l looked at the hits on his blog as his story started and in the next 45 min there were 1,200 hits so this just proves coop is the man and has touched so many of us, so thank you all for the comments and the support through this whole thing. it means more to our family than any of you will ever know. - uncle Jared

Rob and Angel and "Triple C" that is what our family is going to call your baby. You have touched our hearts and I will think of you every time I hold my new (and first) grandson who was blessed with the name Cooper (4 weeks this friday). What a gift you have, what a wonderful family and what a touching story you have shared. Thank you!!! Terrie

I cried when I watched you on TV last night! I have followed Charlie sice he first became ill. Your journey and struggles have been difficult, but you continue to bless the lives of others. Thank you for sharing your story on the news. I am sure that there are many others like me who are avid fans of "The Charlie Fan Club"! We all will continue to pray for you. Continue with your strength and faith. We love you!

I was lying in bed with Rhett watching the news last night and when I saw Rob and Cooper I smacked my husband and said, I read their blog all the time!!!

That was a wonderful story, and I am so glad you decided to do it. Your family is amazing, and Cooper is amazing.

We pray for you every day. Although Rhett doesn't have all of the same medical problems, I believe that once you have been through something similar, you connect in a certian way.

((Hugs)) to you and your family, and I hope things start looking better. I know it seems for us it's one step forward and two steps back, even when we are at home.

Love,

Pam and Rhett

"wow" very loving lil boy, very handsome, I am sorry for the things that you and your family is going thru. but knowing Charlie is at Primary's he is in the best of hands :) and that makes me smile-
There is nothing worse in the world then to see a lil one all hooked up on tubes, etc.
I have lived in ICU's and Primary's for months on end with my grand-daughter when she first arrived. It takes courage to talk and blog on Charlie's story, I am amazed of the world responding to the lil guy. My heart goes out to each and everyone who touches Charlie's heart.
I will pray for you Charlie and keep up the precious smiles.

I wanted to thank you for shareing your story. We were in the same situation back in october of 2007. Our little 23 month old daughter got the same bacterial menongitis and was in Primary childrens. She went from climbing all over everything and running around to not being able to situp on her own. Luckily I wouldn't take waiting for the doctors up here in weber county to find out what was going on. I knew something was wrong. If we would have waited any longer we would be in a bad position luckily the doctors at primary childrens listened to me and admitted her. It was two days later that we found out that was what she had it has been a long recovery but she is doing good. I feel your pain and pray for you cause I knwo that is the ony thing that kept me going. Thanks again for sharing your story.

Hey,
I told you Charlie was a SUPERSTAR! I'm so glad I changed the channel to 5 when I did. There was beautiful Angel, telling it like it is, then Rob...who never looked so courageous and humble at the same time. Charlie not only looks like an angel, but is one! Thank you for your strength and examples for all.
Kisses for Charlie!

Thanks for sharing your story. You and your family are so inspirational, and there's no doubt your beautiful baby has, and will, touch many lives. I love your blog. Your precious son and family will be in our prayers.

Wow! That's all I can say after reading through your blog. It's hard to read it without bawling! You guys are amazingly strong! I was feeling sorry for myself this morning because of some unfortunate circumstances in our house. I am a mom of 6 (a his, mine, & ours situation). #6 is adopted and is 18 months old. We are learning of some issues we'll be dealing with due to a birth mom who used alcohol and drugs regularly. We also just found out that our 5 year old is pretty much blind (he always has been, but he had never known any different, so he never complained). To top it all off, yesterday our 7 year old was diagnosed with a severe allergy to UV rays! Goodbye sunlight!! Anyway, reading through your blog made me feel foolish for feeling sorry for myself. I guess we ALL have trials, and days where we feel like we just can't go on. My problems seem so small compared to the giant task you guys have in front of you to get that baby healthy. My prayers are with you! I don't know you personally, but you have an amazing family! It shows so much through the pictures and posts!

Your story is amazing. What an angel. Although I am not going through the same issues, I do understand what it is like to have a sick child. My son has Marfan Syndrome. Charlie is a handsome little fellow. My five year old and I are very excited to be running for Charlie. We just ran our first 5k for Primary Children's last weekend. I feel blessed that you have allowed others to see into your world. Thank you

God Bless Little Charlie! God Bless Rob & Angel. This is a tough row to hoe. Stay strong you will get through it. We had a similar experience almost 30 years ago. Our little girl is now a wonderful Wife and Mother. I will be forever greatful to PCMC for taking such wonderful care of her. He is in the right place to get him well.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi I just wanted to let you and your family know our prayers are with you. I saw you on the news last night. My son is here recovering from open heart surgery. And I only know a small fraction of what you and your family are going through. I admire your strength and optimisum. You are a wonderful example. Bless you and your Family!

Really enjoyed your KSL appearance--but--I wanted more. I think a full length documentary is in order to satisfy my need for input. You both were great and I am proud of you for being so brave.

You guys did great last night & I am so sorry for what poor little Charlie is going through. My nephew is there at Primary Childrens, Luke Nielson & he just had heart surgery last week. I have never heard of a child going through so much, like Charlie....I have read almost all the posts already & he is one tough kid! Our prayers are with you.

I didn't know you were on the news? I am sorry Charlie had a rough couple of days. I am still praying and thinking of you...and my little boy too. When we say prayers he always reminds me to pray for "Charlie" even though I never forget. I hope he has a great day.

meg, I am a reader of blogs, not a blogger. My blog would be like the movie Groundhog Day--the same thing every day, (without the romance) unless the river rises any further, then I would be blogging from New Orleans. And who wants that???

Just have to say...I'm a little disappointed in all the Y showing on last night's story and no red U's...Come on Angel! Keep standing up for the Utes! ( :

I was unable to watch your special last night and am not able to find it on the computer. If you guys could let me know where to find it, that would be great! I am so touched by Charlie and the whole Christensen family and would love to be able to watch the news clip!

I saw the news clip on the web. You are an amazing family. To think how many times my kids have had ear infections and we always thought it was "just an ear infection". Your Charlie is amazing, as are all of you. I have been following the blog since the beginning. I found you through the Herrin Twins website.

Many, many people are praying for you and for Charlie. What a precious baby boy!

God Bless you.

I don't normally reply to things like this but I just wanted you to know I understand the rollercoaster feeling. My son was born at 25 weeks weighing just 1 lb 11oz. He developed meningitis at about 2 mos old weighing almost 3 lbs. The ups and downs were so hard. We now have 3 shunts in place and still going through the rollercoaster. Just not as big as ride. My son is now 10 and the biggest joy in my life even with a life of wheelchairs.

My prayers are with your family at this time.

Well done Christensen Family!! I know that must have been difficult to go on TV, but you did a wonderful job - You all looked great, especially "our" little Charlie! I am one of the countless strangers who keeps up with Charlie's progress, and prays for you regularly... As usual, I was impressed by your courage and strength. You never know who you may be touching by sharing Charlie with the world. Thanks!

Hope C-SQUARED - Courageous Charlie Cooper Christensen - has a better day today! Long live the bum-pats! I've been checking in on his progress for several weeks now, and he has made me want to hug my grandchildren a little tighter and be more thankful for the little things in life. Charlie is proof indeed that good things come in small packages!

Your story has touched me and my husband's lives so dearly. We have an eleven month old little boy named Porter who is our world. So when we turned on the news last night, and watched Charlie's incredible story it really touched close to home. You are an amazing family and Charlie is truly blessed to have all of the support that he does. He is such an angel and we will keep him and your family in our prays and our thoughts.

I recently had my little boy at Primary's for a few days for RSV and I thought it was the end of the world. Then I saw your story on the news and it broke my heart. I realize that what I went through wasn't anything compared to your experience. I must say that the strength I see in you is amazing. I am going to keep you all in my prayers. And I'm going to keep checking in. I pray for the best for you, Charlie!

May God bless your handsome little Charlie Cooper and may God keep your family strong. Never stop believing in miracles because they happen everyday. You're all in our prayers.

Holy Cow, have you seen how many hits you've had today?!! We just want to thank you for sharing your story with Charlie. We have been following the blog since the beginning and as crazy as it sounds, we truly love this little boy. We have cried for you and your family and marveled at your strength. Thank you for being such wonderful examples to us. We can't even imagine the ups and downs you have faced over the past few months. The good thing about sharing Charlie's story is that that many more people are praying for your sweet little baby. I have sisters in three other states who will consistently talk about "our little Charlie". My mom called us each last night to let us know he'd be on the news. We had a sweet little cousin who was two when he got this disease and didn't even make it through the night. We ache for him and his parents. We KNOW what a miracle Charlie is and will continue to pray for him and your sweet family!!!

I just watched the news clip...once again I am left in tears. Watching Rob sit there and pat Charlie...it brought back so many memories...the continuous rocking/pating motions or Livie would cry that same cry...

My heart breaks for little Charlie, but I have faith in him, and I really do believe that his day will come when he will smile again.

You are such an amazing, inspiring family and I really hope that I get the chance to meet you and sweet Charlie Cooper. The day I stumbled across this blog, Charlie stole a piece of my heart and I am forever grateful for that.

I am thinking of Charlie and all of you. This story has me in tears. My 11 mo son was just treated last week for staph infection in his cheek - that in itself was terrifying - so I can't imagine what you are all going through. Best wishes.
