Poor Parker :l
Dr. Osguthorpe came in and checked his exam and found increased posturing, and dialated pupils that were not as reactive as before. This seems to be the way he gets when he gets aggitated. When he has time to relax his pupils go to a 2 (left) and a 3 (right). He definately wants to do another MRI but he doesn't know if it will be today, tomorrow or Sunday. His CRP is elevated but his WBC (cells that elevate to fight infection) are finally normal. So once again Charlie is a confusing patient.
After researching the literature of severe menigitis cases he is "not as optomistic as he was a couple days ago that Coop would be the boy he was before he came in." Rob and I expected this after the MRI results but the Dr just reaffirmed it.
They are increasing his feedings today and he just pooped again. Poor Parker that had to clean up. And not two seconds after closing the diaper he started again.
I like to watch him open his eyes anytime someone moves him even though it makes him mad.

Boo........
sammy seems a little sad about this information. but he is going to be your beautiful boy no matter what he is like. i love you guys.
sighhhh....Many of the things that have happened or will happen to me in my life I believe are for my own learning, my own experience, to give me wisdom, insight, and make me a better person... I honestly do not believe this is the case for Rob and Angel. I believe the people who are learning and becomming better in this situation are those of us who are witnessing two fantastic parents with remarkable ability to change, adapt, accept, and love unconditionally. Two parents who do not need to be humbled or taught, but rather were chosen because of their abilty to have patience for those of us who do need to be humbled and taught. Chosen as the perfect parents to handle what ever their children and freinds are given to deal with. Because of their strength, their love of each other, and their love of their family. I love you guys, and I believe your future is bright because of who you are. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives. I'm praying for miracles constantly for that wonderful boy!!!!
amen
Dang....but still praying, and ready to fast again this Sunday....Hang in there guys! Love you tons....
Hang in there guyes. We are still praying for you. We love you
I hate that your precious child is going through this and I know it is like living a nightmare. No matter what happens from here, you will be changed. I experienced the same ups and downs with an adult, it must be a bazillion times worse with a child. Every movement, every lab report, every doctor visit is monumental. I am thankful you have friends like chili (doyt). His comments are inspirational and I hope you hold tight to those well spoken sentiments. Charlie Cooper truly is, like the primary song says, a child of God.
I am a child of God, and he has sent me here. Has given me and earthly home with parents kind and dear. Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way. Teach me all that I must know to live with him some day.
Love to you both.
thanks troy & marilee. i needed to read what both of you wrote.... you are both soo right. love you guys.
Great wisdom, Marilee! I love that song and think of it often- when I need some reassurance that someone cares about me and mine. I just talked to Chad and since he doesn't know how to blog... I will send on his best wishes and love. We all have our trials and Charlie must be one incredible little boy and you amazing parents or the Lord would not have put this trial upon you. At a time like this that just sounds like "crap" (sorry Cheryl Dee)... but, you know me.. I call it like it is.
Take care of each other, love that little boy and that little bit bigger boy (Brit... not Rob). Know that you are loved and you have the best support system anyone on this planet could ever have. Things will get better and you will look back on this as an opportunity.
Charlie, Briton, Rob and Angel.. you are loved, your are great and "damn" you are good-looking (sorry again Cheryl.. I am the grandaughter of a RR man..right Rob!?)
I love you guys and your entire family more than you can ever know. Thank you for letting go on like this.
Love Jill and the entire Barraclough and Sanduk clan (37 and counting!)
little charlie...you HAVE to keep fighting and winning! that's what us faithful byu cougar fans are so good at! the football team is going to need your help cheering them on to a BSC bowl game this year so ya just GOTTA get better! you can do it little man!!!
of course i meant "BCS" bowl....
Jill......is your family really growing? Is there an announcement?
Marilee......According to my siblings, I have not heart.....but your comments make me cry.
