Good Night :)
Charlie had a really good night. He would wake up and cry and then go back to sleep. He is currently really peaceful and sleeping. Infectious Disease will be reviewing the scans with neuroradiology today so everyone is on the same page. I have asked the Infectious Disease Docs what strain of strep pneumo bacteria Charlie had because I have been told that Utah only vaccinates for 7 strains out of 100 (?). We should have more news to write later today.

Oh yes, another good night! Always good to see those posts with the smiling face! I am interested to hear about the immunizations and what strains Utah vaccinates for - I have a babygirl who is 7 months old and has had her Prevnar shots but knowing about cute little Charlie still makes me concerned. I look forward to the update. And here is hoping that his bps stay consistently better and that today is a great day with some good news.

Oh - and by the way. I went to high school with Rob's sister Susan. I finally figured that out. She may not remember me but those classes we had together that sat you alphabetically put us by each other, haha.

Was his bacteria a viral bacteria
where it had to run its course or was it a bacteria that would be more affected by an antibiotic but an immunization wouldn't prevent it?
So glad to hear you had a more calm and restful night. Charlie looks great in the picture. We continue to pray and think of him and you...thanks for sharing your story. It has really hit home what is important in life.
Love, Megan
Hooray for good sleep, vitals staying down and things hopefully looking up! It's nice to read that things aren't too crazy for him and he has a little peace. We're sending our prayers from Oklahoma. :)

R&A,
I decided to create an account. At this time I would like to say that I have no comment other than this comment.
I'm so glad Charlie has had a little break here. Breathe. I am excited to hear he is off oxygen -- that seems like a big step! Good job sweet baby.
I think I read on Wikipedia that Prevnar vaccinates against 7 out of 83 strains of meningitis, but those 7 account for 85% of cases or something like that. I'm sure the docs will explain.
In the meantime, keep resting little buddy. We love you!
LeeAnn sent me your blog,
I will pray for your adorable little man.
Hi, reading your blog while I manage the cash register at LDS gift shop. Needless to say with the new IMC hospital, things are pretty slow. Any hoo, I have everybody in here (including Mom) reading the blogs. They all comment on how beautiful CCC is.
sorry, gotta go

Hooray for no storms during tubbie!!
Rob & Angel,
There is a website www.songsoflove.org that is a non profit organization that makes up songs for sick children. You fill out information about your child (ie. things they like, eye color, fav toy...etc..)I thought it was very cute and thought you'd like to take a look. Just click request song, download profile, fill it out, then fax or mail it off..
Hey, guys, just wanted you to know we are still praying for you and so glad that Charlie had a good night! More pat-a-cake in the Menning household and we keep marking it with a "C" when there's good news :-)
Kara
So, just to double check....have there been any storms since yesterday morning?
