After Charlie came back from MRI at about 1:30 he was sent back down to get an x-ray of his shunt. His shunt is programed with a high powered magnet so every time he gets an MRI he will need to have a x-ray to make sure his shunt is in the same level of drainage. That was a good pick up by our nurse Helen. Syd from neurosurgery said his CT looked the same except that the air pocket that was previously there is gone (good news) and the ventricles look the same as before. She will discuss the test with Dr. Brockmeyer but from their perspective the shunt is working properly so they will probably not change anything. We will not get the results from the MRI of the ears for a while since Dr. Park (ENT) is out of town and will have to view it remotely. The X-ray of the shunt also looked fine so there is no need to reprogram the shunt. Because he was in radiology so long he recieved his 12:00 medication two hours late so since he got the medication he has been totally asleep.
PS= Last night Roxey and I saw him sneeze (twice actually) for the first time in a long time. I don't know if that is a reflex related to his cold or if he is becoming more alert but I thought I would mention it.

Sneezing should be a good sign! Go Charlie! Thanks for the posts and the pictures! We are still praying everyday like crazy! Love you guys.
Sneezing is one of my favorite functions ever. Not even kidding. And if you think about it, have you ever sneezed in your sleep? Not likely, which I think is a good sign that maybe his response level is improving????????????
Charlie we love you little man and are praying 24/7 for you dude and you will love your new house with the sound rig in it because you will be able to feel it and it will make everything feel better! sound waves are the best i speak from exp! as long as the house dont fall down but we wont worry about that because your family and jared and friends have built the house that came from heaven. love ya get better i will think of you this weekend on the race course at the top of brighton with your oldman that can see now as long as there is NO light. love uncle chadski
all fine information. glad the pocket is gone. I am a bg fan of the double sneeze. I heard a rumor that he also yawned - why didn't you give that tidbit up. he's a champ and so are you guys.
Thanks for the updates Ang, It's great news that he's sneezed and yawned perhaps. I'll keep my fingers crossed that more tiny steps occur as the days come and go. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you!
Why is it that all CT techs look the same??? :-)

Glad the shunt looked okay, and the air pocket is gone. Let me know if you need me to come back for more sneezes.....like I said, he's probably allergic to me :)
