Hooray!!! :)

The cochlear implant committee met this morning and Terry Such Neibar just came it to say they have agreed to implant one ear on the 31st! Yea! I must admit I was really worried that the decision would be to either wait or not implant at all. I just think that Charlie has so much against him regarding sensory imput that I want him to have any advantage available to maximize his quality of life. He may not be able to see, or process what he sees, he may have severe learning disabilities and he may have difficulty with body control making it difficult to do sign language. All of these are possibilities but each would make communication difficult in themselves let alone coupled with others. So I am very relieved but also a little nervous. It does come with risks such as.... MENINGITIS! Yes implanting a foreign body into his ear will increase his risk of future meningitis. I will hear more about the risks later this afternoon from the audiologist but I just wanted to let everyone know as soon as I heard.

Great news Charlie!! Rob and Angel, Take life one day at a time. God has amazing plans for Charlie and Britty and all of us as well. There are many advocates in Utah who will help on this journey. Just remember the world's definition of normal is not always God's defintion of normal.God has given Charlie and you skills and tons of love and support. Charlie is so handsome !

I am so thankful for all of the prayers and love that has been poured out to this little family that I can't express it. As we know, Heavenly Father does not give any trials that we can not handle - However, He has also sent so many of you with all of your love and support to carry us through. I know that He knew that the love and support was what was needed.
I stand in awe of both Angel and Rob for how they are holding up and taking everything in stride. They have been called many names by so many of you fellow bloggers. But me, as a mom of Angel, I do think that "amazing" is the one that I like best.
Most of all, I want to, again, thank all of you for lifting all of us up so much. You will never know how much it means to us to hear from you and know that your prayers are being said in Charlie's behalf. Thank you again. Grandma Kathi

Hope is alive! I truly think all of your family is amazing. I love to read about all of the people that are praying for you! You will never know all of the lives you have touched through your faith and determination. I feel so blessed to have Grandma Cheryl as our principal and I know her faith is strong! Prayers are being answered and I know all of us will continue to exercise our faith in behalf of little Charlie.

Congrats!!! We love you here in Texas! We're praying for you and your strong little family. I just looked at the number of views of your blog...56,550. That is a lot of people coming to check on you, little Charlie. I know that Johna and I are on multiple times per day to see if you are feeling/doing any better. Some days have steps forward, some are side stepping, but there are none that have you going backwards. Good for you! Keep fighing! We have you in our prayers! Love your sorta cousins - Kelly and Johna

I am a friend of Lezlie Helm and saw your blog through hers. We have a almost two year old that recieved a cochlear implant last November. We have NO regrets and we are so glad that we were able to do it, especially while she was young. If you have any questions about the implant or the surgery feel free to ask. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

That is wonderful news!!! I'm excited to witness this! Been seeing some pretty good news on here lately! Rob, I am so happy they let your Coach up there! Sounds like it was a very uplifting experience for you. I know the strength I felt when I spoke to one of my hero's last year of the same profession, and it gave me a shot of NO5 that I am still running on! Couldnt have happened to a more deserving fan! Sorry for the lack of comments. I'm gonna be around a bit more now. Love you guys!
